Insight Distopia (Italian for dystopia) is a visual experience through a dystopic world destined to shatter. These books have three different hand-made bindings, two Japanese and a crown, as shown left. These books have been exhibited at "Studio Campo Boario" in Rome. |

Visual features To create the books' visuals I’ve used the Japanese technique suminagashi (or “floating ink”) on many different types of paper. The one shown below is rice paper, combined with prints of photographies, creating beautiful overlapping effects. |

The tale The story told in these books is directly linked to the photographies. It narrates about a girl not able anymore to find her reflection in a mirror, as things around her begin to shatter. And so do the distorted photographies, ending with an explosion. |
